Even if just from the command line you could issue a command to show the info I think would be a good start.
I don't really need it on my network either (CPE's in router mode) but I see where it would be nice.

Just replaced a TS-PRO with the WS-8 here in my office. only doing a couple of VLAN and powering a few devices. but it's closer to me so I can test some other stuff. so far so good.

I had one client that would keep a few dozen tabs open all the time and he would call me to "fix" his problem with a restart. I got fed up with his insistence and escalated it up to my boss who issued a remote reboot to his machine. BOFH Boss:"There, I fixed it for you"...Client:"NOOOO"adairw wrote:Well hell. If you think of adding it to the log, I would then ask for the possibility to enable/disable log for DS. I wouldn't want to have log full of DS info because a customer plugged is antenna in the LAN of is router. I don't really care who do it as long as it don't affect my network.

Also, have you test/look at loop detection and STP issue ? I didn't have any return on this. If you want, I could send you or Eric the config of both switch and explain how to reproduce it (no loop, only disable and enabling STP). Else, I will disable loop protection on all switch just in case.

Just did the upgrade from 1.8 to 1.2.0rc11 and the switch is not coming back up, so I need to run up to the site and swap out the switch and figure out why it's broken.
Just an FYI.
