Ahh, well I am still sorry for your troubles Josh, I know when I get into one of those days (and it usually happens on Mondays) I am just like AHHHH and I am pulling my hair out all day and it just SUCKS!

I sure hope things go smoother for you and sorry about the lose screws in the chassis, we did address this issue and there is no excuse!

PFT. The lose screws don't worry me too much for a brand new batch of hardware - lots of manufacturers go through issues like this. As long as none of the internal components were damaged because of it, I don't care - more of a notification for potential manufacturing changes for other customers more than anything else.

My main concern with these is *stability*, as they are replacing dozens and dozens of toughswitches for us, some for high $$$ clients.

I'm going to try to duplicate this issue, but I don't have anymore 12-250A's on hand to test... we did just put 3 more on order as of 20 minutes ago though :)

Chris, just FYI, we just had a 400W with the same screw-loose issue, so this may be a pretty wide-ranging issue from these earlier batches. Just wanted to make you aware.

I think we have 2 or 3 left to unpack.

What is the manufacturing date on the boxes and compare to the manufacturing dates.

We are not Ubiquiti, we are very SMALL and run all switches on the same line and intermix sometimes as needed until we grow and do LARGE runs.

If they are all within the same 2-3 months span then it more then likely was the same person.

Switches made within the last 1-2 months should not have the same issue.

So far we have had about 4 customers with loose screws in the chassis and they all called for permission to open the seal, now that is not to say some just opened and put them back without calling?

01/08/2014 on this 400, all of ours look like they came from 01/xx/2014.

Side note, is that date wrong? :)

Should be pretty easy then to validate your console cable and settings.

Yea, there was a Y2014 bug in our software - LOL - that would be 01/xx/2015

I had an installer default a WS-12-250A switch in the field a month ago and we are having the same problem, I cannot login with default logins no matter how many times we reset it.

Was there any solution to this other then using a console cable to login? I tried that and I am unable to enter any commands or do anything really, it just shoots code as fast as it can. Its not garbage like Josh had, but I am unable to really type or do anything.

Maybe try a different console cable?

What version of firmware are you running?

If you are running an old version of the firmware then I suspect the problem is still there unless it is a newer version where the issue was fixed.

You are using "admin" and "admin" correct? Our PDF incorrectly says to use "netonix" and "netonix".

Not sure of firmware, whatever it would have shipped with.

EC:13:B3:21:07:54 is the mac

Yeah we tried admin/admin as well. I made sure after this guy we update all of them before we touch a thing!
