No, we took out that function in POE Smart for now anyway.
All that POE Smart does as of rc11 is check for cross shorts on POE power up either from Save/Apply and or a cold start.
unplugging a LIVE POE port which you should not do no longer turns POE off.

For clarification, this "function" did exist in RC9?

By live, you are referring to a connection which is currently having PoE current supplied?

Yes, LIVE POE is in reference to a port that has POE ON.
Same as the term "a live wire"

Well it works for me, i.e. upon a power up (switch was completely switched off), the switch automatically supplied PoE to the port that previously (before it was switched off last session) had PoE activated.
Here's the log:
Jan 1 08:00:08 kernel: vtss_port: Loaded port module on board Luton26, type 5
Jan 1 08:00:09 system: Setting MAC address from flash configuration: EC:13:B3:61:06:4A
Jan 1 08:00:10 system: starting ntpclient
Jan 1 08:00:11 admin: adding lan (eth0) to firewall zone lan
Jan 1 08:00:18 pinger: Ignoring port bounces because date is wrong
Jan 1 08:00:20 dropbear[733]: Running in background
Jan 1 08:00:24 system: starting ntpclient
So there's literally no indication of PoE SMART kicking in for this power-up; which I assume is the design in RC11 (as mentioned).

You are running v1.3.0rc11?
Do you have POE Smart turned on for any of the ports on the Ports Tab?
Please show a screen cap of your Ports Tab and Device/Status Tab.

I've PoE smart turned on for all the ports. I'm not complaining: the current behaviour of PoE smart suits my purpose. Just curious to not see any "a-okay" log entry from the feature during the power-up logging period.

Is there a behaviour exhibited here, that's not according to the design of RC11?
