I have a WS-8-250-AC that is running firmware 1.1.8 board is Rev A.
I get fan failure emails a few times a day. I am pretty sure they are false. Has this been addressed in a later firmware release? If so is it safe to upgrade to it remotely as this site is not easy to get to.
Thanks,
David

Re: WS-8-250-AC False Fan Failure
Yes if you are at v1.1.8 already upgrading to the current version is safe.
WOW a WS-8-250-AC, that was one of the original batch of 50 switches with white labels then.
For the record even prior to v1.1.8 upgrading was 99.995% safe, only 1 in about 500 people had difficulties but that has been fixed since the release of v1.1.8.
Yes False fan failures was an issue addressed in a recent upgrade. I think we finally nailed it down or at least I do not hear much complaints anymore about that.
