Hey guys. I just got my switches last Thursday and I've been running them through the gauntlet the last few days. I haven't run into any issues whatsoever so far, but I did notice this morning that I bought two of the same model but it looks like I received two different production runs.
Even though I'm sure the answer is no, can anyone tell me if the blue console port is different in any way from the black console port (aside from color), and were the GBIC lights added in a later production run? I love those on my device, and as you can see the top unit does not have those.
Thanks a bunch in advance, Chris! These are AWESOME switches!!

It is just color, between batches
We removed the SFP LCDs in later revs, sorry but we were aiming to cut a few minor things out to help with the recent 20% price reduction across the board.

Totally understood, makes sense. I can see it from the GUI anyways, just nice to see in the field sometimes!
Thank you again for making these switches! All of my guys really like them too!

How did you ever notice the blue color at the back of the jack?
Chris, be careful, some of us are starting to get too closely attached to these things!

I am far too obsessive-compulsive for my own good

Dunno... I'd really rather have the LEDs on the SFP ports. Makes it easier to troubleshoot. I think it's worth a few extra bucks. When I didn't see them on the switch I thought it was an oversight.
We've got 300+ small fiber switches in our network and being able to do a quick visual is something I'd hate to lose.
Today is an average day: Worse than yesterday, but better than tomorrow.

++ on keeping the SFP link lights. Worth at least $5 to me but I'll still buy them without.

I'd third that. I'd happily pay an additional $20-30 per switch on my side. I only use these in the field where I would want my guys to be able to see if they're getting link lights without having to get their laptop or call me.
Just my 2 cents.

Currently the LCD's are not in the units being produced but we will take your requests under advisement on future production runs.
Some of the units actually have the SFP stacks that have the LEDs but are not stuffed with the electronics on the PCB to light them up.
We run this balancing act of price and features.
If we could get our volumes up it would help as the cost to put them back in goes down with volume obviously.
