WS-8-250-DC Grounding

Sun Sep 06, 2015 8:21 am

A note about this switch, there is no grounding 'lug', just a case mount screw that is just under the dc power cable connections. Really needs a proper ground lug and should be moved a little distance from the power cable connectors.

That is what that screw is for.

Sorry, we could not find a smaller anodized green hex head screw. We tried and are still looking but so far no luck.

All of the mini switches have a black screw for a chassis ground but what makes a green screw work better than a black one?

As far as location that is the best we could come up with to keep everything small.

These are out first attempt at SMALL COMPACT designs. Obviously we have learned a lot that we can carry forward to future designs.

It is not the color that matters, the current ground screw does not hold the wire very well, A stud with a washer and nut?

Not a huge deal just something we would like to see sometime in the future...

We assumed people would use a crimp connector either a U or through hole eye conector.
