Not sure but the Mikrotik does support FC but I do not use them to test thay?

If UBNT puts in FC and BFD I will look at switching to them and sell my Cisco routers.

So what is my best option when upgrading radios with gig interfaces to not have this issue( i currently set those interface to 100 full until i figure this out).... current flat network with all customer CPE's in router mode.... i was going to go routers at each PoP and set up OSPF with the edge routers.... . Is MikroTik my best economical option at the moment?

Our switches do not have the problems of the toughSwitch and you will degrade performance by hard coding speed duplex

With our switches:
DO NOT HARDCODE SPEED DUPLEX ON SWITCH OR RADIO
LET AUTO ON ALL PORTS
ENABLE FLOW CONTROL ON ALL PORTS
AND YOUR GOOD TO GO

I am using your switch at one location which is where my head end is located...... and that is where i have it hard coded going to my router " Azotel WIB box" and on my back hall link feeding an Power beam AC...... until i did that i had the crazy upload and download problems that have been mentioned.

WIB box(100 full)---------(100 Full)Netonix Switch(100 Full)----------(100 full)powerbeamAC-----------------powerbeamAC(100 full)---------(100full) TSpro

Not sure what to tell you?

Maybe you had your devices hard coded and in that case Flow control would not function.

You want ALL devices connected to the switch set to Auto, and all ports set to Auto especially the router.

Make sure Flow Control is turned on in the router for the port feeding the switch.

I put up a video of the switches in my WISP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JvBEAD4MFM
WARNING 1.5 HOURS LONG

I just did this second video showing speedtests here at my WISP

Well i found out the the Azotel WIB router does not support flowcontrol so i guess that is what is causing the issue..... watching your video now.. thanks

Hard to follow this thread, so not sure if it's the best place to report this...
Anyways - for those of us who hoped/prayed that UBNT would allow flow-control in Air OS 8 (beta released earlier today), for their AC-line...
Well... not only there's no such ability via the GUI, it's still restricted in the kernel, just like previous versions:

XC.v8.0-beta2.29185.151016.1712# ethtool -a eth0
Pause parameters for eth0:
Autonegotiate: off
RX: off
TX: off

XC.v8.0-beta2.29185.151016.1712# ethtool --pause eth0 tx on rx on
Cannot set device pause parameters: Operation not permitted
XC.v8.0-beta2.29185.151016.1712#

I guess UBNT does not yet get wireless networking - no matter how many of us tell them....

Newest firmware, both 8.0beta6 and 7.2rc4 has Flow Control option. Under network / Configuration mode "Advanced" / Interfaces....

WOW! What flow!

After reading all 9 pages there is something I'm meditating and I want to share. Feel free to discuss as i'm newbie and I can be wrong. All is about QoS an FC basics:

When flow control pauses traffic, pauses all traffic. Does not matter L2 or L3 QoS you apllied to that packets in your devices. FC intrusions fulminates QoS.

TCP has mechanisms for controlling flow if packets are being dropped/lost. Low latency obliged services as VoIP running over UDP has NOT that control mechanics.

If I have a congested wireless AP/link and having problems with VOIP I think I must disable FC and let the QoS systems drop the less prority packets. TCP/low prority slows down by nature and no/less VOIP packet loss.

I'm right? :screwb:

No, if you disable flow control your performance will drop and VOIP will suffer.

I am a WISP as well and have tried all different configurations.

Yes TCP has mechinisums but the pit falls of wireless half duplex links have a much worse impact on L2 traffic as Layer 2 is only aware of physical link state so it thinks that Rocket M5 is 100M-FD and in reality it is variable HD so the port buffers will constantly fill up and start dropping packets which has a much worse impact on TCP throughput then enabling Flow Control.

Yes we under stand a pause frame pauses the ENTIRE interface which is why I always separate back haul radios such as airFIBER 24 to never use the same interface as local small private PTP and PTMP radios at each tower.

Maybe go watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JvBEAD4MFM
Then there is a second video there where I do speed tests from a location off an AP.
