I've eradicated the curse of Toughswitch...

It's been a long and expensive journey, but I've eradicated the curse of Toughswitches (and Edgerouters) from my environment. Happy days!

It's been well worth it - thank you for helping me get a stable WISP network.

Congratulations!

What did you use to replace the EdgeRouters?

We were only using the Edgerouters as a powered switch - a failed experiment as of course you couldn't get VLAN's across all five ports...

So the edge routers and toughswitches were all swapped out using Netonix switches.

I'm happy with the EdgeRouters. Especially now 1.8 is coming with BFD working with OSPF. I'm doing a test setup with EdgeRouter X and WS-6-MINI switches to show what it can do...

I have never had half download/full upload problems since I swapped all TOUGHswitches with Netonix WISP switches.....
Since I'm going to swap all AP's (Rocket M5) with new Rocket AC AP's I don't think it will be a problem with that in the future!
