What does this mean Adair? I "can or can't" recreate?

I am just not sure that you mean with "and"?

I'm still having this problem, and now it's happening even when I try to enable PoE on one port (not several).

I have tried two WS-24-400A's, 3 laptops (Windows 10 and Windows 7), and Firefox and Chrome. I have confirmed that this only affects management access, the switch still forwards traffic.

In both cases, the switches are running 1.3.8 final.

Any ideas?

I have no idea as you are the only one reporting this issue?

If you factory default the switch do you have this issue when it is factory defaulted?

Other than this you would need to post up your config tab and or arrange TeamView to demonstrate.

Yeah, I agree.. it's odd.

I would be happy to arrange a TeamViewer if that's easy for you.

First have you tried a factory default then set it back up, do not export and import the config as their may be a corruption in the config?

Ok - so I think it's something in our config, but I have no idea what. I cannot reproduce with a factory config at this point.

I re-configured manually (did not import the old config), and now I'm seeing the same problem all throughout the interface. So, I feel like something in our config is causing a problem.

How would we go about tracking this down?

Could you please default a unit, then go through the process of setting up the config you want but do not save and apply and post up screen grabs of your Tabs.

Please post "any" Tab or drop down that is getting "any" changes.

Re: Switch crashing/locking up with editing port description

Here are the screenshots.

I applied the configuration on another WS-24-400A, and the switch seems to be working fine now. Then, I exported the config, factory reset the other WS-24-400A, and then loaded this "working" config. The switch is doing the exact same thing - management access dies when applying various changes, and other oddities such as the interface reporting power is enabled on a port, but not actually powering the port.
